We woke up to a cloudy day, some wind and a
temperature of 9 C. This is day one of
two Sea Days en route back south to Ålesund.
We had breakfast in the dining room with Ed from Orange County California
and John and Joan from near Sydney, Australia.
After breakfast, we browsed the shops and met Bruce and Veronica then
made arrangement to meet them for dinner tonight in the Dining Room.
Back to the cabin, I found my reading
glasses hidden in the lining of my purse, when I was looking for something
else. All the passengers were issued certificates that they had crossed the
Arctic Circle. We donned our jackets and
gloves and went up to Promenade Deck 3 to walk.
After two miles we returned inside and climbed the stairs to the Deck 12
Explorations Café for Caramel Lattés.

After a light lunch at the Lido Market on
Deck 9, we wandered around and got a coffee at the Deck 3 Dutch Café before going to find seats for the 2 p.m.
destination presentation about the last two ports – Eidfjord and Stavanger. A quick look outside and the weather was
still cloudy with the sea waves about two meters high.
At 3 we joined Bev, Don, Lucille and Andy in
the Queen’s Lounge for the Tea Dance and then spent the rest of the afternoon
reading until joining Bruce and Veronica for dinner. Our choices this evening were Shrimp &
Crab Cakes and an Avocado, Tomato, Corn & Lettuce Salad. The main courses were Seared King Fish on
saffron risotto with mussels, clams & pepper or Asian Sesame Salad with
salmon, water chestnuts and risen noodles.
We bother ordered Caramel Chocolate Toffee with Chocolate Mint ice
cream.
We went to the 8:30 show which featured
illusionist and visual artist, Ruben Vilagrand.
Besides some magic, he included in his act a segment of finger play for
making shadow puppets on a screen.
